Bobbie,

Let me quote from a member of the committee.

"Some of you may've been wondering why this is our "last hurrah". Well, organizing AvCon has never been an easy task. Planning begins close to a year in advance, and really kicks into high gear about six months before it takes place. Plus, it costs quite a bit of money to put things together, particularly to rent out the auditorium at Black Creek for two days; and all of this comes out of pocket. After organizing four conventions (2004, 2005, 2007, and this one), we on the committee no longer have the resources to continue. As well, some of us are ready to move on from this venture and direct our energies toward other things."

So the current AvCon committee is not planning to organize another one... sorry.

If you plan on attending the convention as a member of the audience, yes, you will have to register and pay like everyone else. (Unfortunately, we don't have space for extra guest speakers.)

Plus, we need people to register ahead of time, so we can give Black Creek -- where, as you should know, the event will take place -- an accurate headcount; and we will need one for the group dinner as well.
